Stretching

Stretching has several important tasks:

1) Warming up the body
2) Detoxification
Deposits are built in the cellular layer between muscles and the connective tissue, as well as at certain points, e.g. the so called ‘tennis elbow’. By stretching you are activating these areas.
3) Freeing energy in your meridians
The meridian system, well known by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), basically is our system of bioelectrical energy channels. Just stretching can build your energy measurably by up to 20 % !
4) Strengthening your tendons
5) Building strength in joints & bones
Science acknowledges that due to the piezoelectric properties of our bones, through pressure on our bones, the bone density gradually improves.

Stretching should always be done before any other exercises, ideally with your morning exercise. Especially in the beginning it will be difficult and sometimes painful when you start stretching.

Remember the following principles for stretching:

(1) All stretching has to be done SLOWLY !
(2) Always stretch to the maximum that you can reach in the beginning. Hold this position and focus on breathing into the abdomen. You will be able to reduce possible pains, rather quickly.
(3) Concentrate on relaxing the strained muscles. Feel the result and bend down further.
(4) Avoid sharp pain, that comes quickly. Immediately stop at this point - there’s a chance that you do something wrong.
(5) Be happy with your success ! Remember the first day you started it and compare ...
