Practising Nei Gong does not replace any necessary medical examination or treatment.

History

NEI GONG has got a very long tradition in healing exercises. It has the same roots as the European Wyda and the original East Indian Yoga. It probably is the original base technique of some currently fashionable exercise methods like Tai Chi, Chi Gong (also written Qi Gong or Chi Kung) and Yoga forms.

Healing exercises have been utilised at least since the Tan-Yao period, 2360 b.c., when a form of dancing was used to cure arthritis. In the Warring period (403-221 b.c.), the Dao Yin (exercises for mind and body) and Ta Na (breathing exercises) were introduced. Unfortunately a lot of the old healing knowledge almost got lost.

I’d like to mention some background information about Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Tai Chi and Chi Gong.

Few Europeans know, that in 1822 Chinese government forbid to teach TCM at the Great Medical Academy in Beijing. About a hundred years later, there was another ban of TCM. Western medicine was favoured, partly due to the fact that it was more advanced in the field of anatomy.

The main stream Tai Chi Chuen and Chi Gong styles, tought today, have their origins in the 19th century. The ‘Old Yang Stile’ was developed by Yang Lu Chan (1799-1872). It s a relatively new school !

Techniques like Nei Gong generally were taught secretly, until the second half of the 20th century. Often they were transferred from the master to a single student, only.

Today there are 4 official schools in Taiwan. Nei Gong is also taught in Hong Kong. There is a school in Switzerland. We are teaching it in Germany, Denmark and Italy. Other countries or other cities than our usual seminar locations on request. We are happy to introduce you to Nei Gong !
